Who were the Giants?
The Giants were the children of Gaia and the spirit of the deepest abyss, Tartarus. They were sent by Gaia to storm Olympus and destroy the Olympian gods.
Gigantomachy
The Gigantomachy (Giant War) was a legendary battle between the Gods and the Giants. he bttle was fought on the Plains of Phelgra. However, the Gods had a problem. It had been prophesied that the Gods would be unable to win without the assistance of a mortal.
Thus, Zeus summoned Heracles (Known as Hercules in Roman mythology), the demi-god son of Zeus and a mortal queen- Alcemene. He aided Olympus. Without his help, the Giants would have been unstoppable.

The Fall of the Giants
What followed was nothing short of divine chaos. The skies roared with Zeus's thunderbolts. The earth cracked under the weight of the fallen giants. Heracles, armed with his bow and poisoned arrows, became the turning point. One by one, the giants met their fate- not by the gods alone, but by the hands of gods and mortals together.
Enceladus tried to outrun Athena, only to be crushed under Mt Etna. Polybotes was pursued across the sea by Poseidon and finally trapped beneath the Island of Kos. Porphyrion, the fiercest of all, charged at Hera - but Zeus struck him with lightening and Heracles delivered the final blow. Some were buried under burning islands. Others, like Alcyoneus, were dragged across borders and slain far from their homeland. Even the monstrous twins, Otis and Ephialtes, fell to the very god they sought to overpower.
The battlefield was stained with fire and fury, but the gods emerged victorious. Gaia's fury had been unleashed - but even she could not rewrite fate.
The Giants had risen in wrath. But, the fell in silence.
