What If Your Shadow Was Actually Another Version Of You, Trapped?

It follows you everywhere. It mimics all your movements. But, what if, its not copying you? What if its just trying to keep up?

Maybe, your shadow isn't just a shape. Maybe its another version of you. A version trapped between light and darkness. Every time you turn, it turns. Every time you walk, it walks. Every time you stop, it stops. because that is all it can do. 

But, what if, one day, it didn't?

What if, one day, it hesitated? Moved a second too late?

Would you notice? Would others? And if you all will, would you point it out? 

Because, maybe, it was just trying to escape its forever enclosed prison.
