You wake up to your alarm. The clock saying its morning. But the sky? Its still black. Birds are silent. The air is heavy. And yet, outside, everyone walks and moves normally. Pretending like everything's fine. They are all waiting for the bus, walking their dogs, and scrolling through their phone like nothing is wrong. 

The whole city is alive with artificial lights, glowing under the dark, starry sky. 

You ask why its still dark. Their response? Blank. Confused. Asking if you are okay. 

Did the sun really vanish? Or did you slip somewhere else? Somewhere the light never overtakes the darkness?
