What If Pets Could Talk, But Not To Their Owners?

 

Imagine you are in a lift with the owner of a pet. maybe a cat or a dog. And suddenly, as you are looking at it, it barks. But, instead of hearing a bark or a meow, you hear them speak. Would you freak out?

What if we all lived in a world where pets could communicate with humans. But, here's the twist. They can only speak to a stranger. Not their owners. 

Imagine, you being able to understand what your friend's dog is asking for. Maybe, your pet could talk to you before you took him/her in. 

Now think: What if our pets gossiped all the time, like we do, just not with us. Maybe telling all your secrets to others right in front of you. While you think your pet is ignoring you? Maybe they are just having fun noticing your problems. 

So, in this world, would you even want a pet?
